Digital Bulletin 12.04.24
Did you know? Matthew, a disciple of Jesus, teaches us that Jesus "did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28) Jesus, the one we follow, the one who rescues us and redeems us from sin to eternal life, this Jesus came to serve. Through serving, Jesus lifted up others and helped them encounter God.
It shouldn't surprise us then, that God has called each of us to serve one another in love (Galatians 5:13). There are many ways to serve. We can serve inside the walls of the church and within her ministries, and we can serve in our communities and families. We are at our best when we find ways to serve in every facet of our lives.
Lebanon Christian Church, just like the rest of God's Church throughout history, is built through the faithful service of the people that make up our church. Nearly all of our ministries currently have critical serving roles that are open. If you are not serving, would you consider checking out our Serve Central wall in the hallway outside of the Kids' Auditorium, or look at our Serving Guide (available at the Welcome Desks) and prayerfully determine where you will serve? Each arm of our Family Ministries (Students, Kids, and Pre-K) all have multiple needs. Additionally, our Guest Services team has multiple needs as well. Together, let's make a difference. And together let's reflect Jesus. As always, if you'd like to talk with someone about getting connected and serving please email connect@lebanonchristian.org.

Catalyst Bible Studies
At LCC our Catalyst Bible Studies are intended to you learn God's Word in order to more faithfully live His Way. The word "catalyst" refers to that which starts something else. God never intended for us to only grow to learn more about Him, but as we do to live more like He intends. Our Catalyst Bible Studies aim to do this.
With our addition of Rightnow Media as a church, leading a Catalyst Bible Study has never been more accessible. If you think that you might want to lead a Catalyst Bible Study please reach out to kurt@lebanonchristian.org or craig@lebanonchristian.org as we will schedule training with you. All teachers and facilitators are required to be members of Lebanon Christian Church, exhibit the fruits of a growing relationship with Jesus, and have completed our Teacher Training.
Catalyst Bible Studies can take place anytime during the week. On Sunday mornings we have the benefit of offering age-appropriate worship environments for children and students. But you can lead a study anytime throughout the week onsite or offsite as long as you fulfill the criteria above.
Catalyst Bible Study on Advent
God Gives His best gifts to us in unexpected ways. The Christmas season is a reminder of the gift that God gives to us through his son Jesus. The prophet Micah gives Israel hope while they are under the threat of violence and oppression, sharing God’s promise that from the insignificant and inconsequential town of Bethlehem will come the world’s greatest blessing, who is Christ the Lord. When the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, comes, his greatness will span the entire world. The unexpected is what God does best. If you’re a woman looking for an unexpected experience with our Savior this holiday season, join Hannah Myers for an Advent study on The Unexpected November 24 through December 15 at 9am in room 114.
Upcoming Events:
Christmas Caroling- December 7-2:30pm-We still have a few weeks before Christmas music will be playing everywhere, but we're already making plans to spread joy through caroling! Anyone can join in on the fun! We'll meet in the LCC Kids Auditorium at 2:30PM on Saturday, December 7th. After dividing into groups, we'll go into our community to sing, smile and share joy at 3 different locations per group. Come back to the church afterwards for a light dinner, cookies and cocoa. You'll be finished in plenty of time to catch the Lebanon Christmas Parade! Sign up here

Psalm 13:2a: How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?...
Student Ministries "The Koin". Saturday night from 5pm to 8pm The Koin, short for Koinonia (the Greek word for fellowship/community), is focused on community, fellowship, discipleship, and talking about the hard parts of living a Christ-like life. The first hour is an opportunity for students to spend time together and hang out, we have the coffee bar open, and students will grow in community and fellowship with one another. Immediately following we have a short message/devotional time. The Koin is different from our Sunday morning student experience because the students will choose what we talk about. We have a theme each month based on a topic of Christian living and students will be able to submit their questions related to that theme via Instagram or placing a sheet of paper in our questions box. After our short message/devotional, students break up into smaller groups of 5-7 students to further discuss the message. We cannot wait to see you there!
Global Impact Spotlight- Haitian Christian Outreach- RoRo and Eline Eustache, when they left Haiti almost two years ago, finally had an opportunity to go back home. Praise God for the safe travel to Haiti and back to the U.S.
They never imagined they would not be able to return for such an extended length of time. There were no preparations in place for being gone for so long. Once they arrived on campus, it was evident that time, weather, natural disaster, and the circumstances of the country had taken its toll not only on the physical structures of the campus, but also the people of the community.
The price of daily living continues to increase, violence is still a threat. Yet through it all, God has been faithful and is changing lives with the Gospel.
We ask you to continue to pray for Haitian Christian Outreach, RoRo and Eline, and the country of Haiti.
Your generosity through your tithes and offerings has and will continue to impact Haitian Christian Outreach for the Kingdom
Blessing Bags Stories:
From Dawn Walker- Recently, I discovered a man who was desperately trying to get back to his family. I was able to give him the bag of supplies plus a gas card.
From Kurt Alexander-We were in Indianapolis visiting someone at the hospital. We had stopped to grab a drink and noticed there was a homeless gentleman at the intersection. As we came back to the intersection when leaving, we simply put down our window and reached out to hand the bag to the gentleman. Before I could even say anything, he thanked us and asked God to bless us. We said thank you and asked God to bless him as well. We didn't have a lot of time to interact since the light had turned green but were thankful to be able to bless this man with a gift from our church family. Thank you for allowing us to have the opportunity!
Blessing Bags Update: All The Blessing Bags that you have so generously donated have been picked up. Please share your story of when you passed out your bag, we would love to hear about it. You can share your story at office@lebanonchristian.org
Hurricane Helene Relief update-The total given was $8295 + $5000 matching from Global Impact ministry, for a grand total of $13,295 that will be sent to IDES for hurricane relief.
